Do you qualify? Here's the checklist

What's actually assessed
Most applicants get a decision in seconds
There's no single number that decides the outcome. Applications are evaluated on a combination of factors, which is why people sometimes qualify despite assuming they wouldn't.
- Your credit profile as a whole — payment history and existing obligations, rather than a score in isolation
- The amount you're requesting — relative to what the assessment suggests is manageable
- Identity and account verification — confirming you are who you say you are
- State availability — terms and availability vary, and state rate caps may apply
Checking costs you nothing
The rate check is a soft credit inquiry, which has no effect on your credit score no matter how many times it happens. A hard inquiry only occurs if you accept an offer and proceed. If that distinction is unfamiliar, this explainer covers it properly.
If you're not approved
It happens, and it isn't the end of the road. Here's what's worth doing next.
Ask your provider about other arrangements
Many service businesses offer in-house payment plans, staged work, or a deposit-plus-balance structure. It costs nothing to ask, and it's often the fastest route forward.
Consider whether the amount can come down
Ask what's genuinely urgent versus what can wait. Splitting a job into a necessary phase now and an optional phase later reduces what you need to finance.
Compare other options with soft checks
Other providers assess applications differently. Prequalification elsewhere is usually also a soft inquiry, so comparing costs you nothing — see our guide to financing options.
Try again later if things change
Because the check is soft, an unsuccessful application leaves no mark on your score. If your income or credit profile improves, checking again is free.
Eligibility — common questions
There's no published minimum score. Your overall credit profile is weighed alongside other factors, and because checking your rate is a soft inquiry that doesn't affect your score, it's worth seeing what you prequalify for even if your credit is limited.
You'll need either a valid Social Security number or an ITIN in order to verify your identity and complete an application.
A valid U.S. bank account is generally required, since that's how monthly repayments are set up.
Availability and terms can vary by state, and state interest rate caps may apply. The application will show what's available for your location.
You'll find out at the end of the application. Because the initial rate check is a soft inquiry, an unsuccessful check doesn't hurt your credit score. Ask your provider about other payment arrangements, and consider applying again later if your circumstances change.
Yes. Financing is offered through the business doing the work. If yours doesn't currently offer it, ask them to send you a link so you can apply for your job.
You must be at least 18, or 19 in states where that's the age of majority.
